Does anyone else feel like they got dumber watching Transformers 2?

Don't get me wrong, I love Michael Bay. No one can blow stuff up like Michael Bay! But watching Transformers 2, I actually got tired of watching stuff go boom. In fact, there was so much stuff going boom, I think my brain actually shut down for lack of any story. Is this what it's like to be on drugs - really bad drugs?Does anyone else feel like they got dumber watching Transformers 2?You must be the first one ever to say publicly "I love Michael Bay!" That is almost like taboo to say out loud.



The dumbest people are the ones that didn't like the movie...then decided to take more of their personal time in addition to the 2.5 hours wasted on seeing the movie and then writing about it on the internet.Does anyone else feel like they got dumber watching Transformers 2?
I feel smarter for not watching itDoes anyone else feel like they got dumber watching Transformers 2?Ha! I'm not planning on watching it at all b/c I'm afraid of just that. Lebouf was even embarrassed about it. I saw an interview he did to promote it, but he shrugged the subject off and talked about the next movie he's doing. All of Michael Bay's stuff focuses way too much on special effects. They take time away from character development and plot to make room for more and more. Plus even you like that sort of thing, explosions in movies these days are lame b/c it's just cgi.
I felt that way, too. It wasn't just the explosions trying to hide the lack of plot, but exploiting stereotypes and using raunchy sight gags for humor, while kids are watching. I would say watching Transformers 2 is like watching paint dry, but I wouldn't dare insult paint drying like that. The plot was awful, the acting horrible horrible plus a little terrible. The robot fights- weak. It's so far from the first in quality it seems like a 5year old puppy created it. 1/10 stars.
During the robot fight in egypt, when those annoying parents all of the sudden show-up for no explicable reason, I said to myself, "enough!" and I walked-out!

I wish they would have edited the movie down so the fights were not as long and I wish they would have kept the parents parts down to the bare minimum.

The Mom is especially annoying.

I wish they had cast anybody else as the mom.Does anyone else feel like they got dumber watching Transformers 2?

Honestly, as much as I hate to admit it, since I am a Transformers fan, yes. The explosions as somebody else already mentioned, seemed like it trying to cover up for a lack of a plot. The characters from the first film such as Ironhide and Ratchet are reduced to background characters, while most of the screen time is given to those two annoying street talking twins. Ugh. I guess it's to much to ask for an intelligent, thought provoking movie about transforming robots.
