The music I'm thinking of is commonly used as background music in advertisements, especially those for action-packed movies.
For example, this is the trailer of Harry Potter %26amp; The Deathly Hallows Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EC2tmFVN鈥?/a>
From 1:00 onwards, in the background, you can almost hear like a choir or something. I wanted to know what this music is called cause it is honestly really amazing.
Thanks for all the help guys! (:What is this type of music called? Examples provided?
Soundtrack music like this, for movies, is generally referred to as Film Scores. It's got similarities to classical and baroque music, but with more of a contemporary edge. I'm a huge fan of this type of music. Some of my favorite composers of Film Scores include:
John Williams (who actually wrote the Harry Potter music, as well as the Star Wars music)
Danny Elfman (works with Tim Burton alot. He wrote the music for Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and the Johhny Depp version of Alice in Wonderland)
Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump)
Jerry Goldsmith (Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Mummy, Gremlins)
Ennio Morricone (Clint Eastwood's Man with no name trilogy, The Untouchables)
James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar)
Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Madagascar, Pirates of the Carribean sequels)
Michael Kamen (X-Men, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Die Hard)
Dave Grusin (The Goonies)
Klaus Badelt (the first Pirates of the Carribean movie, The Gladiator).
These are just a few, but there are many more.
Hope this helps. What is this type of music called? Examples provided?
