I just went and saw transformers 2, and i thought is sucked, but thats beside the point. at one time in the movie optimus prime says "Destiny rarely calls upon us at a time of our choosing" and i could almost swear that that line was in lord of the rings. is this a common saying or is transformers stealing lines from lord of the rings?Did Transformers steal from Lord of the Rings?That line in those words were never in Lord of the Rings. The idea behind it is throughout the story, just like it is throughout many other stories, especially epic hero's journeys. But that doesn't mean that one story stole it from another. If that were the case, Tolkien would have stolen it from Homer or Shakespear or any of the other classic writers. yeah that saying is ancient, no one can really claim that one. It's pretty much game. But, I would agree it's almost word for word. They could at least try being original.
