Can the single transistor flyback circuit be used on other ferrite transformers?

exactly what the title says. can the circuit here http://www.powerlabs.org/images/schemati鈥?/a>

be used on other ferrite transformers also since they are too high frequency? Can the single transistor flyback circuit be used on other ferrite transformers?Yes, as long as the turns ratios are close enough. You may need to adjust the resistor values to get the desired operation.

Edit: I forgot to add that this circuit will not work well with an ungapped ferrite core, since flyback circuits store energy in the core with the collector or drain winding and then dump that energy through the output winding. Ungapped cores saturate with low stored energy. The gap is where most of the magnetic field energy is stored.
