No. The first Transformers did very well because it was the first of the series that Michael Bay decided to do. He actually out did himself on the first one. In my opinion the first movie was much better than the second one he did this time around. I think the only reason why the movie has grossed so much was because of the first movie. The first movie according to the critics met its goal which was to satisfy the viewers in terms of story plot, action, and the classic hero vs. enemy. The second movie was a far cry from the first one. The story plot wasn't all that great. There were times when the movie lagged in terms of dialogue between the characters, and it was sometimes difficult to determine who the heroes and the enemies were. It was just that confusing. Many believe that it was good based on action, and I do agree with that. The action was satisfactory. But overall, it failed to deliver. The critics on one site gave it a 19% rating. That is just how terrible it was. So with that said, I don't think it will surpass the first one in terms of money. It didn't surpass it in terms of overall effectiveness so I believe it will fall or continue to fall as a dud. It wasn't worth the hype.
