After both Megatron and Jetfire used the last bits they were looking for the device inside the pyramid that would destroy our sun and make them an energy substitute for the Allspark that they could use to give life to their offspring or "hatchlings" as they called them. Thus allowing them to grow new troops and greater outnumber the Autobots.
