What role do hertz play in electrical transformers?

Does more hertz mean more volts with less amp loss? What what what? Be specific and try not to dumb it down a lot I know a decent part of electricity. What role do hertz play in electrical transformers?Hertz is the number of cycles per second.

In North America, electricity is generated at 60 Hz - that means the electrons move forward, then back again, 60 times in one second.

In the UK, it's 50 Hz - 50 times in one second.

The voltage still hits the same peak. In a resistive load, the current reaches the same peak too.

If you have a capacitive load, the higher the frequency in Hz, the more current you will have at the same peak voltage.

If you have an inductive load, the higher the frequency in Hz, the less current you will have at the same peak voltage. What role do hertz play in electrical transformers?Frequency (f) is one of the factors that determines the peak flux density (B). The other factors are the number of turns (N) of wire in the winding, the area of the core (A) and the applied RMS voltage (V). The relationship is V = 4.44fNAB. To avoid saturation, the peak flux density can not exceed a value determined by the characteristics of the alloy used for the core. Once the transformer is constructed, the value of the number of turns, the area of the core and the maximum value of the peak flux density can not be changed, so 4.44NAB = K, a constant value and V/f = K. That means that, to avoid saturation, the ratio of the applied voltage to the frequency can not exceed the design value must not exceed a constant value.

Frequency also influences the energy losses in the iron. The hysteresis loss is directly proportional to frequency and the eddy-current loss is proportional to frequency squared.

The current rating is not related to frequency except that increased or reduced iron losses could influence the amount of copper losses that the transformer can withstand. What role do hertz play in electrical transformers?Check out the link to a tesla coil site. Tesla coils are high voltage high frequency open air transformers. What role do hertz play in electrical transformers?
It determines the size of the transformer.
