My furnace keeps poping transformers?

My furnace keeps poping transformers? I relpalced the wires to the thermorstat. any other ideas? My furnace keeps poping transformers?check the voltage going to the transformer if it is ok check to make sure the transformer is wired right especially if its a universal voltage one. make sure the thermostat wires are wired right especially if you have a thermostat that has a common. then i would check the wiring in the furnace after make sure there are no bare spots, burned wires, loose wires, fraid wires, nothing touching ground but the ground wire its self, make sure no screws are driven into a wireMy furnace keeps poping transformers?
get a qualified service tech to come find the source of the overcurrent. you may have a gas valve going bad on you or something like that. in the mean time you could put a fuse on the positive side of the transformer to protect it, radio shack has fuses and fuse holders. a120v-24v 40va stepdown (controls) transformer should only have a 1.5A fuse on it to protect the transformerMy furnace keeps poping transformers? If you have central A/C it may be the wires going to it.

I would remove all wires to the furnace low voltage terminals.

Turn thermostat off and reconnect wires one by one.

Of coarse you could also have a short in the furnace.

Call a professional! My furnace keeps poping transformers?
Lordshai has it pretty much right. The gas valve is shorting out and causes the transformer to burn out.

Using a fuse would not help as it would just blow the fuse each time the valve called for power, so your furnace would not work.

Time to call a tech.My furnace keeps poping transformers?Call a furnace expert? Just a silly thought. Most transformers are protected by a fuse. Where did that go?My furnace keeps poping transformers?
Its obviously the decepticons. good luck with that one, unless you know Optimus Prime.
